Our candle-making process reduces waste and uses eco-friendly materials. In this post, we'll walk you through how we make sustainable candles, by focusing on using natural waxes, wicks, scents, and dyes.

The Wax

The heart of any candle is its wax. For a sustainable option, we steer clear of paraffin, a petroleum byproduct, and instead opt for natural wax. We choose soy wax for its renewable source and biodegradability. By opting for soy wax, we not only reduce our reliance on non-renewable resources but also support sustainable agricultural practices.

 Eco-friendly Wicks for Clean Burning

To keep our compromise on sustainability we chose Cotton wicks, as they burn cleanly without emitting harmful substances. Unlike wicks coated in paraffin, cotton wicks produce minimal soot and do not release harmful substances into the air when burned. Additionally, in some collections we also use Wood wicks, which is another sustainable choice, adding a cozy crackling sound to your candle-burning experience.

 Natural Scents and Dyes

Many commercial candles contain synthetic fragrances and dyes that can emit harmful chemicals when burned. To avoid this, we use only natural fragrance oils free of phthalates and parabens for scenting our candles. Not only do these oils offer a delightful aroma, but they also provide aromatherapeutic benefits, promoting relaxation and well-being. When it comes to colouring our candles, we opt for natural dyes or embrace the beauty of undyed wax, creating a charmingly rustic look.

 Repurpose Containers

Sustainability also means minimizing waste by repurposing items you already have. Glass jars, teacups, or any heat-resistant container can be given a new life as a candleholder.
