I’d like to introduce myself first. I’m Raquel, the owner of this small business! I’m a third year Biochemestry major in Lisboa, Portugal.
You might be thinking: why would you be starting a business that has nothing to do with science?! The truth is that I am a very creative person and throughout my life I have always had a creative outlet. I was a ballet and contemporary dancer for more than 10 years. I also went to a music conservatory and learned to play the violine for more than 10 years. So when I stopped doing those creative activities I turned to writing and journaling! But because my degree is so scientific, I was in need of something that exercised the creative part of my brain and that’s when I decided to start making candles!
I love candles! There’s nothing like a Sunday afternoon with some blanks, a movie and a candle! I always study with a candle lit up, it gives me tranquility!
When I started to make candles, I started to realize that, even though it’s a very creative process, I could also implement some scientific aspects to it! Because when you mix the fragrances, the colours what’s that if not chemical reactions?
So here you can expect to find the labour of my love and time! Everything is sustainable, handmade and with lots of care!
